Saving hearts and changing lives.
Dr. Ankur Kalra, an interventional cardiologist, created makeadent.org to raise awareness and understanding about heart health with cutting edge research and a cardiology Podcast (Parallax). He has set out to better understand how genetic risk factors can affect South Asian heart health and build the first biobank of it's kind in the process.
Dr. Kalra first approached me after seeing the Compassion Research Lab and Compassion Measure website, and asked for help in revamping the look and functionality for makeadent.org's 5th anniversary. We wanted to better highlight what the organization is doing for heart health, as well as make clear to the viewer how they can participate.
The look and organization was built from the ground up to support an easier user flow for individuals, fellow researchers and healthcare professionals, and prospective stakeholders. What evolved was a set of illustrations demonstrating the love and care that is put into their work and a complex CMS filtering system to help viewers find the right podcast episode / research article / media feature they were looking for. The new website offers a much friendlier feeling to engage visitors during their stay.
